It started with a whiteboard. Then a stack of notepads.
For years, the morning lineup lived on a whiteboard. It worked, right up until somebody erased it. And the only record of that day's work went with it. No notes. No history. Nothing to look back on.
So I went to notepads. Every single morning: names, assignments, who called out, written out by hand before the crew even walked in. That worked too, in its way. What it left me with is years of paper stacked in drawers and boxes, and when the GM asks who did what last June, or an inspector asks who sprayed what and when, you're digging through a pile of notepads hoping the page you need still exists.
The software that existed either cost a fortune, did one job out of five, or looked like it was designed by somebody who'd never set a cup. So I built the tool I actually needed: the board, the spray records, the fleet, the water. One system, simple enough that a crew can read it at 5 AM and an inspector can read it any day of the year.
TurfCaddie runs my operation first. Every feature on this site earned its place on a real course, on real mornings, with a real crew: mine.
